Campgrounds we've visited & plan to visit soon
Hammonasset State Park in Madison, CT is added to the ranks of "The Great Ones."  We have
now stayed in enough campgrounds to be able to rank them in a meaningful way, and these
are our picks to date, based on desirability for return stay:

1. Frisco Woods in Frisco, NC - water & electric, dump available - directly on Pamlico Sound at
southern end of Outer Banks.  Restaurants nearby.

2. Lake Aire in Hollywood, SC - full hookup, rustic setting, size of site, proximity to Charleston.

3. Cape Canaveral, FL - Full hookup, right on channel to Atlantic Ocean, great cruise ship
watching, beach, boardwalk - near Kennedy Space Center and Coco Beach.

4. Hammonasset in Madison, CT - no services at site, but dump and potable water available.
Huge state park, great beach, cool breezes during 3-day hot spell!  No dogs allowed.

Now to generalizations:
Woodbine, GA - Convenient stop before Florida - reasonable price with Passport America.
Lake Manatee, FL - fine FL state park - no services, privacy in campsites, good biking
Pine Island, FL - Very sociable;
Vero Beach, FL - too much concrete
John Prince County Park, Lake Worth, FL - Excellent, water & electric, dump, paved roads
